24.Army helmet with cover and canvas liner (for tropical or cold climates) The cover is the second model (star sewn directly to the cotton and reinforcement strap all around, used from 1943 onwards) Some say that the canvas liner was specially for the tropics as leather would rot more quickly, but it was also used in extreme cold which gave better protection to the wearer’s head. The helmet cover was used to deflect the extreme heat and also used for putting foliage on. Very nice patination on the shell.rare € 1190
